- Teamsters are withdrawing their guards from the agricultural areas being picketed by UFW members in the Coachella Valley, saying that it is possible because of increased law enforcement. Violence had been erupting between United Farm Worker Union and Teamsters around UFW table grape boycotts to protest Teamster-Grower work contracts.
