- Meetings have been held with the Coachella Police Department and Riverside County Sheriff's Department at Indio to assure the safety of students in case of more demonstrations. Five teachers have been reassigned from teaching positions to the district office. Bill Stewart, president of the district chapter of the American Federation of Teachers and Virginia Johnson of the chapter of California Teachers Association said both groups support the reopening of the schools.
