Abstract (lang="eng")
An interview with Marco Buti, Director-General for Economic and Financial Affairs at the European Commission, is presented. Topics discussed include challenges being faced the Economic and Monetary Union (EMU) such as need of structural reforms for helping generation of resources for keeping public finances under control, conflict between inflation and competitiveness in weaker countries in the union and political hues to the implementation of the structural policy in terms of immigration.
