Abstract (lang="eng")
An interview with Ricardo Lagos, former President of Chile, is presented. When asked about the lessons from his role in his country's transition to a democratic government, he cites the ability to build very broad coalitions. He considers democracy as the future of Latin America, which be decided by the citizens and not the market. He also talks about the effect of Chile's economic growth on its leadership position in the Latin American community.
