The article comments on elections in Latin America in 2006. According to the authors, the nine elections that occurred during 2006 in Latin America, only Colombia and Mexico elected governments from the right. They said by January 2007, ten Latin American countries had governments from the left. They mentions that the 2006 elections showed two significant traits of the latest growth of the left in Latin America.
