The article discusses a study that examined the degradation at Puerta de Tierra in San Juan, Puerto Rico and plans for new developments in the urban, environment and public health sectors. Topics covered include review of housing programs, sanitation and epidemic in the area and the demand for radical action by the Federación Libres de Tabajadores (FLT). Conclusions cited the development of commercial centers, the Paseo de Puerta de Tierra and the Bahia Urbana megaproject.
