Children's Privacy Technology brought incredible convenience to nearly every aspect of our lives. Means of communication, transportation, entertainment, and even exercise is very different. Innovation came with, and as a result of, users’ data being harvested and analyzed – making users more visible to the providers of technology and services. Data became the source of innovation, and financial gains, at the expense of users’ privacy. While adults may be less vulnerable, because they lived a relatively private youth, and eventually more aware of the consequences, children are just born into the lifestyle. Therefore, their privacy is at risk before they even know it – lack of understanding of the technology and changing norms, and the culture of “going viral” and “number of followers” is to blame. This project aims to discuss children’s privacy, trigger thought, and ultimately make a difference through action. The project is a call to action with urgency, information, conscience, and firm intention as this challenge is rapidly headed to become a problem for arguably the most vulnerable, and loved at the same time, people in our lives - the children. It ultimately leads to creation of a blog (www.Privacy4Children.org) where various topics are tailored in ways that could be understood and put to use by parents who are not as tech-savvy.
