Physicians in the United States are under the dual regulatory pressure of HIPAA compliance as well as economic pressure associated with free market choice that patients have in selecting a healthcare provider. As such, it is doubly important that patients are on-boarded with a practitioner in the proper manner and their data is cared for properly before, during and after the provision of care. With fines for HIPAA violations reaching as high as $16 million for a single entity, private practice owners are paying attention to the details and looking to train and certify their staff to ensure they are not on the wrong side of an audit from Health and Human Services’ Office of Civil Rights.   

In an attempt to educate via entertainment, the book RICH DOCS stresses the importance of HIPAA compliant marketing in the context of increased private-practice revenue via proper patient acquisition and on-boarding.
