- Professor Jules Dejerine became Fulgence Raymond's successor as the Chair of
Neurology at the Salpêtrière in 1910. Originally from Switzerland, Dejerine became a
very well-known neurologist, notably for his work on paralysis and the hereditary origin of some
neurological diseases.
