- The Agile Blue Team: Leveraging DevOps Concepts for Continuous Cyber Resiliency
- Abstract
- As the information security discipline continues to mature, we can draw on some of the lessons learned by the software development community. The dawn of the dot-com era saw explosive growth in the internet, and this required a new way of thinking. It required a systematized approach on the “how” of writing software. In the 20 years since then, there have been vast improvements in the software development people, process, and technology stack. However, the dawn of the cyber-age is just beginning. Forward leaning cybersecurity programs will need to adapt to a modern approach to protecting the organizations assets from cyber-attacks. Information security programs will need to reach further down the stack and include a tactical and technical approach to security operations that aligns with the overall strategy of the Information Security program. This involves more than just defining a strategy of continuous resilience. Instead, it requires that the Information Security program embed agile practices across the people, process, and technology stack.
