This thesis presented the mechanical and brief optical design of a photonic retinal prosthesis. The mechanical design utilized SolidWorks to develop a headset for use as a retinal prosthetic for individuals with retinitis pigmentosa, a genetic disorder characterized by loss of photoreceptors and pigment deposits on the retina.
