Abstract
Norma Anderson was born and raised in Napa California near the San Francisco Bay area. She attended San Jose State College and then after receiving her art degree she moved to New York City to pursue work as an illustrator. In New York City she met her husband who was from the West Indies and also an artist. After several years in New York, the couple moved to Vermont where they lived on a farmstead and began to raise their three children. In 1979, Norma and her husband divorced, but she followed him to Rhode Island so that their children could be close to both parents.
