- Abstract
- Joseph Cruz, known as "Joe Feet" in Fox Point, was born in 1933. Growing up in a crowded and sometimes noisy house, he developed and appreciation for family ties and the importance of respecting elders. The Boys' Club was a pivotal organization in his childhood and he remembers time spent there as well has time spent swimming in the river with friends. After being nearly blinded by a classmate's pencil he attended Meeting Street School, then Thayer Street School, Doyle Avenue School and Nathan Bishop Junior High. He left school at the age of 16 to earn money then entered the Army. He eventually became a custodian at Bryant College. A recovered alcoholic since 1983, his rehabilitation has encouraged him to reflect on his life. Although he harbors some regrets, hee cherishes his memories of Fox Point
