Interview with Lori Silvia Silvia, Lori 1956- interviewee Thomas, Samira interviewer mixed material 2009-03-30 Lori Silvia, born in 1956 to first generation Portuguese Americans, grew up in Fox Point with her two sisters and brother. She remembers playing with children from many backgrounds, distinctions between races being non-evident until she went to Nathan Bishop Middle School. Since she excelled in school she was placed in advanced classes and earned a scholarship to Rhode Island College. She felt intimidated there and did not continue her education. She moved out of Fox Point in her mid-twenties and now works for the Fox Point Seniors Recreation Center where she is now Director.
