- Abstract
- Manuel J. "Head" Bairos, born in November 1928, lived in a number of neighborhoods within Fox Point. In the 1950s he moved to East Providence and worked for the U.S. Post Office for thirty years. He also pursued higher education at Rhode Island College. He is an active member of "The Players" of the Barker Playhouse on Benefit Street and a member of the Portuguese American Social Club. He recounts many stories about the Boys' Club, the slave trade, and the geographic changes of Fox Point while he was growing up in the neighborhood.
