JP: And then from that I became a disc jockey which was about the most famous I ever wasI was on BRU, but this was long after I had graduatedI was on BRU from 72 to 83. And I basically went against the grain, like everybody was saying, oh, that old music is no good, only the modern stuff is good, and they were throwing away all their Beach Boys albums and stuff, and I realized, oh no, [chuckle] this is just temporary madness, so I did, I did, I played oldies, but different than the top 40s stations played oldies. I tried to put a little ... a little bit of, you know, historical perspective to it. In other words, instead of just letting the audience request the music I tried to lead them a little bit, and it was just the right time and I was successful beyond my wildest dreamsunfortunately you dont get paid at WBRU, but I mean, by 1980 I was voted the number one radio personality in the market.
