Archive of recovery: Dr. Bob comes to the Brown library

Description

Abstract:
Clipping from the March/April 2000 issue of the Brown Alumni Magazine; an account of the University's acquisition of the Doctor Bob collection of books, manuscripts, photographs, and personal memorabilia belonging to Dr. Robert Holbrook Smith (1879-1950), whose meeting with William Wilson ("Bill W.") in 1935 led to the deep personal friendship and fifteen-year-long partnership as co-founders of Alcoholics Anonymous, the self-help movement that has brought sobriety to millions of members worldwide. The article includes an image of Dr. Bob's coffee pot and The Big Book.
