  <mods:abstract>This print is a highly allegorical image divided into two sections. In order to describe this complicated image I have relied heavily on the analysis provided by M. D. George. On the left of the sheet is large crowded square in front of Burdett's house in Picadilly. While Burdett's house is dark, the others nearby are brightly lit with transparencies, swags of lights and candles. Crowds in front of the illuminated house cheer, whereas those in front of Burdett's house throw stones and other objects at the windows. In the center is an effigy with a mantle reading "The Mo(u)rning Chronicle." In the left foreground, two allegorical figures, perhaps Discord and Faction, stumble and shield their faces in despair. On the right half of the sheet, the title "The immortal Wellington and his brave fellows in arms," hovers over a dinner party where four figures toast each other. These figures represent Scotland, Ireland, Great Britain and Wales. In the center of the table, a dove flies over a centerpiece uniting the national symbols of, thistle, shamrock, rose and a leek respectively. The British lion tramples a French Imperial banner in the right corner.
