- Abstract
- Using a blanket or a large piece of canvas, a group of stout and rosy English women toss Napoleon high into the air. Harrassed in this manner, Napoleon wishes, "Oh! That I were safe in Egypt!" Here, Napoleon is not represented with the thin frame and a hawk-nosed profile used in many caricatures. Instead, he appears well fed and full of health. In the background, a Dutchman and a Spanish Don enjoy the scene as they sit smoking pipes and drinking. The writing on this sheet is shaky and uneven and appears to have been done by a different hand other than the one that engraved the image.
