Dessauer Infanterie

Description

Abstract:
One of a collection of 26 somewhat crude unsigned original watercolor drawings by von Röder of uniforms of Count Wallmoden's corps during their passage through Mecklenburg, showing Prussian, English, Swedish, Russian, Bremen and Verden, Hamburg, Lübeck, King's German Legion, Russian-German Legion and Mecklenburg uniforms. Soldier facing left with riding crop in right hand, sword hanging from belt.

Upright medium folio, unbound; foxed; in maroon cloth slipcase, maroon leather label stamped gold: "Allied Troops 1813-1815".
