            <p>As we have had no letter &amp; but slight or not any Sertain 
                <lb/><choice><abbr>Acct</abbr><expan>Account</expan></choice> from you since you sailed from Hence, But 
                <lb/>having this <choice><abbr>oppot'y</abbr><expan>opportunity</expan></choice> to write to <placeName>Barbadoes</placeName> &amp; appre
                <lb/>­hend. <del>Y.</del> You may with grait Propriety Expect to recieve 
                <lb/>some <choice><abbr>Acct</abbr><expan>Account</expan></choice> from Home upon yr arrival in the <placeName>West<lb/>Indias</placeName>, <seg type="slaveRef">we sho'd be willing to give some more 
                <lb/>Particular advice where to sell the slaves</seg> &amp; <seg type="slaveRef">in Case we could be 
                <lb/>Sertain of <del/> your <del>Good</del> Health and prosperity as well 
                <lb/>as the State of your Slaves</seg>, by several <choice><abbr>Acct</abbr><expan>accounts</expan></choice> from 
                <lb/>the <placeName>windward  Islands</placeName> you'l find them there but Low 
                <lb/>by <del>several</del> <choice><abbr>Accts</abbr><expan>accounts</expan></choice> from <placeName>So. Carolina</placeName> <del><unclear>Virginia</unclear></del> <seg type="slaveRef">Slaves 
                <lb/>have been very high &amp; was still so by the last 
                <lb/><del>Acct</del> advice.</seg> Tho' <seg type="slaveRef">we are Inform'd that several Vessels had 
                <lb/>then arriv'd there from the Coast &amp; <placeName>west Ind.</placeName> w'th Slaves &amp; that more was Expected 
                <lb/>as still being orderd there</seg>, but nevertheless we are of 
                <lb/>oppinion they will still be much Higher there than 
                <lb/>Among the <placeName>windward Islands</placeName> <anchor xml:id="a"/>* <seg type="slaveRef">we are also well Infor­ 
                <lb/>that slaves have sold high <del>well</del> or much better at <placeName>Jamaica</placeName> 
                <lb/>than any where among the <placeName>wind'd Islands</placeName> <del>the

                <lb/>Places, <placeName>So. Carolina</placeName> or <placeName>Jamaica</placeName> may prove the

                <lb/>of opinion that if your Slaves sh'd arrive In ye <placeName>west In­
                <lb/>­dia</placeName> In good order &amp; that you Cant Turn them <del/><unclear/>

                <lb/><placeName>Jamaica</placeName> or <placeName>So. Carolina</placeName> &amp; if they sh'd not answer
                <lb/>at <placeName>Carolina</placeName> May proceed to <placeName>Virginia</placeName>, but where
                <lb/>ever you sell we recomend You'l get what Hard
                <lb/>Cash you possaby Can provided you Can get
                <lb/>it without much Loss In ye Sales &amp; weigh of ye 
                <lb/>money, as ye must be sensible the bills will Cash

                <lb/>risk of the Protest, The that Cash in our present trade will be at least 5 <choice><abbr>⅌ct</abbr><expan>percent</expan></choice> better ye bills This is the most <unclear>Prastclar</unclear> Direction
                <lb/>we are able to give, the Execution of wch will depend
                <lb/>much upon your Prudence and Care all which we Shall
                <lb/>Chearfully abide by, &amp; Hope may prove Sucksessful
                <lb/>both to you &amp; us. If you sell the slaves in the <placeName>west
                    <lb/>Indias</placeName> you'l bring <del>with</del> home in the Brigg (without you shall <unclear>key</unclear>) In Lieu of Salt
                <lb/><measure unit="hogshead" quantity="40" commodity="rum">40 hhd Rum</measure> <measure unit="hogshead" quantity="6" commodity="sugar">6 hhd good Sugar</measure> &amp; <measure unit="bag" quantity="2,3" commodity="cotton">2 or 3 Baggs of Good Cotton</measure>
                <lb/>Except shod sell at <placeName>Jamaica</placeName> where you'l take not not to Exceed <measure unit="cask" quantity="30" commodity="rum">30 Cask Rum</measure> or <unclear/>
                <lb/><unclear/>Cotton or more <unclear/>
                <lb/>If you sell in <placeName>So Carolina</placeName> you'l bring home about 40 Cask Rice notwith-
                <lb/>standing all we have hear wrote if you have your helth <unclear>engr</unclear>
                <lb/>arrival at <placeName>Barbadoes</placeName> &amp; are Satisfied you can do better with your
                <lb/>slaves amongst the Spanyards or Elsewhere without running 
                <lb/>any Extreordinary Risque you have Liberty to do as your best
                <lb/>Judgment shall Direct In every respect as fully or Expressed
