Herewith are submitted all the papers in connection with three allotment applications filed by the following Indians;

Captain Chiquito (now deceased), a member of the San Carlos band of Apache Indians, of San Carlos, Arizona, for himself.

Ush-ka-ta-ol-ne, a member of the Navajo tribe of Indians, of Houck, Arizona, for himself.

Elin Chiquito, a member of the San Carlos band of Apache Indians, of San Carlos, Arizona, for himself.

These applications were filed under section 4 of the act of February 8, 1887 (24 Stat. L., 388), as amended, covering lands on the public domain in the Phoenix land district. The applicants are all entitled to receive allotments on the public domain, and it appears that the regulations in the matter of settlement and use of the lands have been duly observed and that they have in all other respects complied with the requirements of the law. The lands embraced in the applications are reported to be useful for grazing purposes only, and are non-mineral, non-irrigable (except in the case of 011053, which is valuable for agricultural purposes, a portion thereof being under irrigation), and contain no power-site or reservoir possibilities. It further appears that none of the lands are visible within a coal withdrawl and no coal deposits are reported thereon.

It is accordingly recommended that the applications be approved, and that the Commissioner of the General Land Office be requested to issue trust patents therefor of the form and legal effect prescribed by section 5 of the act of February 8, 1887 (24 Stat. L., 388), as amended by the act of May 8, 1906 (34 Stat. L., 182); subject to right-of-way for ditches and canals constructed by authority of the United States, as follows;

Phoenix 013622--Heirs of Captain Chiquito. - The SE1/4 of the SE 1/4 of section 6, the SW1/4 of the SW1/4 of section 5, the NE1/4 of the NE1/4 of section 7, and the NW1/4 of the NW1/4 of section 8, township 7, south of range 17, east of the Gila and Salt River Meridian, Arizona, containing 160 acres;

Phoenix 011053--Ush-ka-tat-ol-ne. - The NW1/4 of the SW1/4 of the SE1/4 of section 24 in township 22, north of range 29, east of the Gila and Salt River Meridian, Arizona, containing 10 acres.

Phoenix 013736--Elin Chiquito. - The N1/2 of the NE1/4 and the SE1/4 of the NE1/4 and the NE1/4 of the NW1/4, section 8, township 7, south of range 17, east of the Gila and Salt River Meridian, Arizona, containing 160 acres.

If the foregoing recommendation is approved, proper notation thereof will be made on the records of the Indian Office.
