- In this interview, Lisa Melmed describes her work as a teaching artist with Urban
Pond Procession, touching on UPP’s partnerships with Providence CityArts and several schools in
the area surrounding Mashapaug Pond – including Reservoir Elementary, Highlander Charter School,
and Community Preparatory School. She reflects on the changes she has observed within her
tenure, explains what role UPP may play within larger remediation and community revitalization
efforts, as well as larger social and political contexts.
