Oral history interview with Sam Hough about the Mashapaug Pond community, Providence, R.I. Sam Hough, professional appraiser, describes his effort to save Historic Gorham materials from destruction, and his work conducting the inventory of the Gorham archive, housed in the special collections of Brown Univ. Library. Hough, an expert on silversmithing and the history of Gorham, proves to be a trove of technical information, historical perspective, anecdote and humor.
