Abstract
Oral history interview with Ed Hooks about the Mashapaug Pond community, Providence, R.I. Hooks, an African-American resident of Reservoir Triangle neighborhood since the late 1940s or early 1950s, recalls vanished aspects of childhood, daily life, and race relations, from that period and after. He describes people, places, wildlife and plant life in the Mashapaug Pond area with a seemingly photographic memory, resulting in an historical picture steeped in vivid detail.
