Abstract
Oral history interview with Robin Tagliaferri about the Mashapaug Pond community, Providence, R.I. Tagliaferri describes her family history, focusing on her grandparents, who emigrated to the U.S. from Italy in the early 20th century. Her grandfather worked in the bronze foundry of Gorham Co. for 41 years, and Tagliaferri talks about what she has discovered about him in the John Hay Library's Gorham archive, and other sources. She also reminisces in detail about immigrant Italian daily life in the Silver Lake section of Providence.
Note
This oral history was conducted by a Brown University student in Anne Valk and Holly Ewald's fall 2011 course "Oral History and Community Memory".
