<mods:abstract> Oral history interview with Greg Simpson about the Mashapaug Pond community,
Providence, R.I. Simpson, an environmental engineer, has directed the Textron site
remediation effort at the former Gorham industrial site since approx. 2004. He describes the
nature of his work, and the current status of this large-scale toxic waste clean-up project
        - the technical processes involved, the costs, the timeline. He also describes the evolving
interactions between Textron and the neighborhoods adjacent to the site. </mods:abstract>
<mods:note> This oral history was conducted by a Brown University student in Anne Valk and Holly
Ewald's fall 2011 course "Oral History and Community Memory". </mods:note>
