Buprenorphine Telehealth Accessibility and Efficacy for People Experiencing Homelessnesstext_resourcesOpioid overdose continues to be a public health crisis, significantly impacting individuals who are unhoused. People experiencing homelessness with opioid use disorder (OUD) face significant barriers to accessing evidence-based treatment with medications. During the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, federal regulatory changes have enabled the use of telemedicine for OUD treatment. Telemedicine, particularly audio-only telehealth programs, have the potential to improve treatment access for people experiencing homelessness. This project aims to look at the accessibility and efficacy of a low-barrier, telehealth delivered buprenorphine program for people experiencing homelessness.
