Abstract:
Contrast between organizing farmers in a highly rural area versus building organizations in urban centers; working as an independent organization versus within a structured network with resources and colleagues. Worked at Minnesota CO-ACT, VISTA volunteer, Citizen Labor Energy Coalition, directed Family Farm Organizing Center; Eastern Washington Rural Organizing Project. Went to IAF and started Spokane Alliance; build Sound Alliance (Seattle area), now directs IAF Northwest.
