Manuscript document dated August 26, 1868. This is a labor contract issued to a Chinese Slave Laborer a "Colono" upon arrival in Cuba. Chinese coolies were bounded by contracts to an owner for up to 10 years during which they were treated not much better than a slave. The document was issued at the "Tenencia de Gobierno de San Cristobal" and outlines in detail the rights and obligations for the 30 year old Colono.
