In a Sequester'd Providence Churchyard Where Once Poe Walk'd

Description

Abstract:
This acrostic sonnet on Edgar Allan Poe's name was composed in August 1936 as part of a contest between HPL, Robert H. Barlow and Adolphe de Castro. First published in Corwin Stickney's HPL (1937). This copy does not have the title written at the beginning of the poem. There are some verse alterations between the draft copy written on a torn envelope and the clean copy written in ink.
