- Neste contributo investigam-se possíveis referências do projecto pessoano póstumo intitulado “Trilogia dos Gigantes” a partir da Biblioteca Particular de Fernando Pessoa – apresentam-se títulos que se debruçam sobre a mitologia grega e os Gigantes em particular. Neste artigo, defende-se que a “Trilogia” tem como uma das fontes mais imediatas o Paradise Lost de Milton, e Charles Robert Anon, como precursor da temática dos Gigantes. O artigo inclui diversas imagens de exemplares da Biblioteca Particular e ainda, pela primeira vez, a transcrição da totalidade da marginália verbal do volume The Poetical Works of John Milton.

- This contribution focuses on possible sources to the posthumous Pessoan project entitled “Trilogia dos Gigantes” [Trilogy of the Giants] based on extant books at Fernando Pessoa’s Private Library––from titles concerning Greek mythology to others featuring a range of Giants in particular. We argue that the “Trilogy” has Milton’s Paradise Lost as one of the most immediate sources, and Charles Robert Anon, as a precursor to the theme of Giants in Pessoa’s works. This article includes a selection of images from Pessoa’s Private Library as well as the complete (previously unpublished) transcription of the verbal marginalia of the volume The Poetical Works of John Milton.
