en beschreeven door Arnoldus Montanus.
Note
Authorship contested; in the German translation, published two years later under the title: Die unbekante Neue Welt, oder Beschreibung des Welt-Teils Amerika, und des Sud-Landes. Amsterdam, 1673, Olfert Dapper is credited with being the author of the original edition in Dutch. For controversey, see Library chronicle of the University of Texas.
Note
According to Moraes, several issues exist, differing in the absence or presence of some lines of red type on the title page and in the absence or presence of the portrait of Prince Maurice of Nassau; other distinguishing features are the signing of the folded map of America and the location of the bridge in the engraving of Cuzco (inserted following p. 342); however, the combination of features observed in the copy described does not match those mentioned by Moraes.
