In Part 1, she talks about her courses at Brown; her disapproval of the Pembroke-Brown merger; extra-curricular activities including being class president, a member of the glee club, and a member of the pyramid squad; and other women's colleges of the time. In Part 2, she discusses the three different deans she knew during her time at Pembroke, her first jobs, and the Alumnae Association, in which she was actively involved at the time of her interview. In Part 3, the interviewer and Elizabeth look at her senior year yearbook and she recollects the Pembroke tradition of Wednesday night formal dinners, the dormitories at Pembroke, and flapper fashions of the period 1924 Elizabeth "Betty" Young was born on November 1, 1902 to Herrick Young (Class of 1887) and Suzy Howell. After attending Classical High School in Providence, Betty went on to the Women's College at Brown University, from which she graduated Phi Beta Kappa in 1924 with a major in English and a minor in Biology. She was class President her senior year and later became active in the Alumnae Association, helping to establish the Alumnae Fund.
