Abstract
Laparoscopy revolutionized the field of surgery by reducing procedural morbidity, facilitating recovery, and accelerating discharge from the hospital. However, its main limitation is that all members of the surgical team rely on a single image, often controlled by the most inexperienced member. We developed and tested a software program that allows zooming and centering of the endoscopic video feed on individual instruments, each labeled with a color signal near its tip. We hypothesized that this program will improve efficiency and accuracy of laparoscopy.
