Note: Script
Most resembles muhaqqaq style of script after Ibn al-Bawwab (d. 1031); one of the "Six Classic Hands." (c.f. Safwat "The Art of the Pen"; p. 230). Twelve lines. Text box dimensions measure 20.8 x 11.8 cm. Border dimensions measure 22.2 x 13.2 cm.
Note: condition
Paper is in fair condition overall. Right corners discolored. Green ink of border suggests inherent vice; paper splitting along green line on right edge of border. Split has been partially repaired with strips of paper. Two very small circular areas of loss to right of border on recto have been patched with paper.
Note: physical description
Black ink on white paper with black and occasional red diacritical marks (red marks possibly corrections). Gilded blue and red star verse markers present. Gilded diamond floral extra marginal illuminations appear in blue, red, yellow, green and pink. Gilded green red and blue border present. Particularly notable that area of text box only on verso is sprinkled with gold flecks on top of text (zarafshan) (c.f. Bloom "Paper Before Print"; p. 72). Gilded and red Arabic script appear outside of border on recto. "10.00" appears in pencil.
