Abstract
Halftone print (after photograph) of a wood engraving created by Howard McCormick, after Gutzon Borglum's sculpture Head of Lincoln, along with McCormick's account of how he worked with Borglum to make the wood engraving. Published in "The Mentor", March 1929, page 5. On the reverse (p. 6) is a separate article, entitled "A Unique Lincoln Portrait," that discusses a portrait of Lincoln by an unknown artist that was created by copying the body from a portrait of John C. Calhoun using Lincoln's head in lieu of that of Calhoun, authored by Archibald Rutledge.
