Kiowa drummer

Description

Abstract:
A Kiowa man seated on the ground with his back to the viewer. He wears a gray hat with one feather attached to the hat band. He has a yellow, purple and pink shirt with a red and purple blanket draped across his left shoulder. He holds a group of feathers in his right hand. A drum sits on the ground to his left. Gouache painting on tan paper. Signed in bottom right corner "Mopope '33". The title for this piece written in ink on the matting was written by Stephen Mopope.
