- O primeiro número de qualquer publicação periódica é simultaneamente uma janela para o presente e uma promessa para o futuro. Pessoa Plural ambiciona não apenas avançar e disseminar os estudos pessoanos, como reflete também uma opinião compartilhada sobre a importância material dos textos e outros artefactos para ancorar a reflexão crítica e teórica. Trata-se de um veículo para a divulgação de materiais inéditos recolhidos da vasta coleção de documentos do espólio, assim como a correção e revisão de outros já publicados. Além disso, as novas técnicas de digitalização têm vindo a melhorar nitidamente o acesso a materiais de arquivo, o que, por seu turno, facilita a reflexão crítica e teórica sobre os escritos de Pessoa. Aos leitores, que esperamos possam tirar proveito desta iniciativa, fica um convite à leitura.

- The first issue of any periodical publication is both a window into the present and a promise for the future. Pessoa Plural aims not only at advancing and disseminating scholarship on Fernando Pessoa, it also reflects a shared sense of the material importance of textual and other artifacts for the grounding of critical and theoretical reflection. This is a vehicle for the continuous publication of new materials retrieved from Pessoa's vast collection of manuscripts, and the correction and revision of previously published ones. Furthermore, new digital techniques have also greatly improved the accessibility to archival material and this in turn facilitates further critical and theoretical reflection on Pessoa's works. To the readers, whom we hope will be able to profit from this venture, we extend a warm invitation to read.
