    <mods:abstract lang="por">Partindo da análise de um pequeno poema de Fernando Pessoa revelado em 2000, no qual o escritor reage a uma acusação de plágio relacionada com alguns versos do seu famoso poema Mar Português, este artigo situa cronologicamente o caso, revela a origem dessa acusação e enquadra historicamente o episódio, sublinhando o simbolismo político de que se revestiu. Pessoa foi acusado em Março de 1935 por um correspondente do semanário literário Fradique de se ter apropriado de expressões de uma velha quadra de António Correia de Oliveira, que nos anos 30 se estava a consagrar como o poeta oficial do regime de Salazar. Isso aconteceu no seguimento da inesperada ruptura pública de Pessoa com o Estado Novo, que ocorreu apenas um mês depois de o livro Mensagem, integrando o poema Mar Português, ter recebido um prémio governamental. O caso da acusação de plágio opôs assim não só dois poetas destacados como também duas atitudes muito diferentes em relação ao regime de Salazar.</mods:abstract>
    <mods:abstract lang="eng">Setting out from the analysis of a little poem by Fernando Pessoa revealed in 2000, in which the writer responds to an accusation of plagiarism related to some verses of his famous poem Mar Português, this paper gives the chronology of the case, reveals the origin of the accusation, and draws the historical background of the episode, stressing its political symbolism. Pessoa had been accused in March 1935 by a correspondent of the weekly literary newspaper Fradique of having appropriated some expressions of an old quatrain from António Correia de Oliveira, who in the middle 1930s was establishing himself as the official poet of the Salazar regime. This happened in the wake of Pessoa's unexpected public clash with the regime, just one month after he had received a government award for his book Mensagemintegrating the poem Mar Português. Thus the case of the plagiarism accusation opposed not only two prominent poets but also two very different attitudes towards the Salazar regime.</mods:abstract>
