- Este trabalho tem o objetivo de aproximar Fernando Pessoa (o autor da Mensagem), Jorge Barbosa (o Claridoso) e o império português. Sugere-se que o conceito de holding materno e o anúncio de colapso imperial desenvolvido por estes autores contribui para compreender melhor a relação que as poéticas deles mantêm com o sistema imperial.

- This paper intends to explore the dialogue between Fernando Pessoa (the author of Mensagem), Jorge Barbosa (the Claridoso) and the Portuguese empire. I will suggest that the concept of maternal holding and the announcement of imperial collapse developed by these authors can contribute to a better understanding of the relationship that their poetics have with the imperial system.
