Abstract:: Ofélia Queiroz é geralmente apontada como o único amor da vida de Fernando Pessoa. Todavia, em 1935, ano da sua morte, Pessoa escreveu em várias línguas um número invulgar de poemas de amor na primeira pessoa, incluindo versos denotando intensa paixão. Esse facto levou Ángel Crespo em 1989 a formular a hipótese de Pessoa ter morrido profundamente apaixonado por uma mulher misteriosa, sobre cuja identidade nunca conseguiu dados plausíveis. Este artigo apresenta uma hipótese de identificação do alvo dessa paixão tardia de Pessoa, partindo da análise de vários dos seus poemas de amor de 1935 e de algumas cartas, até hoje desconhecidas, trocadas no mesmo ano entre ele e Madge Anderson, uma inglesa que visitou repetidamente Portugal a partir de 1929. Madge era irmã de Eileen, que por sua vez era a cunhada de Pessoa, casada com o seu meio-irmão João Maria Nogueira Rosa (ou John).; It is often stated that Ofélia Queiroz was the only love in the life of Fernando Pessoa. However, in 1935, the year of his death, Pessoa wrote in several languages an unusual number of love poems in the first person, including verses conveying intense passion. This led Ángel Crespo to formulate, in 1989, the hypothesis that Pessoa died deeply in love with a mysterious woman, though Crespo did not gather enough plausible information to uncover her identity. This article proposes an identity for the target of Pessoa's late passion, through the analysis of several of his love poems of 1935 and of some letters, previously unknown, exchanged in that same year between him and Madge Anderson, a British woman who repeatedly visited Portugal from 1929 onwards. Madge was the sister of Eileen, who in turn was Pessoa's sister-in-law, married to his half-brother João Maria Nogueira Rosa (aka John).
