- O prolífico escritor e filósofo Raul Leal (1886-1964) enviou centenas de cartas a algumas das mais destacadas personalidades do seu tempo. Estas cartas são importantes não apenas para compreender o movimento modernista português, mas também dão um testemunho da evolução do génio especulativo deste autor. O rascunho desta carta ao Presidente do Conselho de Ministros, António de Oliveira Salazar aqui apresentado é um contributo para o estudo das relações e pensamento de um homem singular que, apesar das dificuldades materiais e da incompreensão dos seus contemporâneos, optou por trilhar um caminho individual dedicado ao Espírito.

- The prolific writer and philosopher Raul Leal (1886-1964) sent hundreds of letters to some of the most distinguished personalities of his time. Not only are these letters important for the understanding of the Portuguese modernist movement, but they also provide a testimony of this author’s speculative genius evolution. The draft of this letter to the President of the Council of Ministers, António de Oliveira Salazar presented here is a contribution to the study of the personal interactions and thought of a peculiar individual who, despite serious financial problems and the lack of recognition and understanding shown by his contemporaries, chose to tread an individual path, devoted to the Spirit.
