Abstract:: I have been reading Millicent Borges Accardi’s poetry and other writings for many years now. But what finally motivated me to do a full interview with the poet was the publication of her book Through a Grainy Landscape (2021). She has many poems dispersed throughout some of the most prestigious American magazines and journals that specialize in creative literature. She has become a well-known poet among us in America and Portugal, having been involved in the Lisbon yearly literary event Disquiet, which brings together many writers from both countries. Her involvement with other writing groups in the U. S. is also present here, showing us her generosity and capacity to see things way beyond herself, a quality rare among writers in any language. She has now become one the principal literary players dedicated to recuperating and perpetuate our ancestral cultural heritage in America, a group of writers much larger than some others realize. She makes sure in this conversation none of us forgets the continuous publication of books that aim to reclaim a visible place in the literary canons in their country of birth—and, if possible, on this of the Atlantic that for centuries has been connecting all of us.; Há muitos anos que leio a poesia e outros escritos de Millicent Borges Accardi. Mas o que finalmente me motivou a fazer uma entrevista completa com a poetisa foi a publicação de seu livro Through a Grainy Landscape (2021). Ela tem muitos poemas dispersos por algumas das mais prestigiadas revistas e periódicos americanos especializados em literatura criativa. Tornou-se uma poetisa conhecida entre nós na América e em Portugal, tendo estado envolvida no evento literário anual de Lisboa, Desassossego, que reúne muitos escritores dos dois países. Seu envolvimento com outros grupos de escritores nos EUA também está presente aqui, mostrando-nos sua generosidade e capacidade de ver as coisas muito além de si mesma, qualidade rara entre escritores de qualquer idioma. Ela tornou-se agora um dos principais actores literários dedicados a recuperar e perpetuar a nossa herança cultural ancestral na América, um grupo de escritores muito maior do que alguns imaginam. Ela garante que nesta conversa nenhum de nós se esqueça da publicação contínua de livros que pretendem reclamar um lugar visível nos cânones literários do seu país de nascimento - e, se possível, neste do Atlântico que durante séculos tem ligado todos nós.
