- The game of “Je est un autre” defines a significant part of Enrique Vila-Matas’ poetic narra¬tive and serves as a sign to explore Fernando Pessoa’s connections with the work of the Cat¬alan author. Through fragments and very brief notes, this article aims to outline a minimal cartography of Pessoa’s presence in Vila-Matas, highlighting issues that pertain both to a poetics of disappearance in the Catalan author’s work and to broader concerns in contem¬po¬rary literary criticism and theory. In this interplay between Vila-Matas’ work and Pessoa’s precursor notion of alterity, questions arise regarding the impossibility of defining mystery, the philosophy of the subject in modernity, the paradoxes of the visible and the invisible in literature, and the fluid boundaries between fiction and theory.

- O jogo do “Je est un autre” define uma parte relevante da poética narrativa de Enrique Vila-Matas e funciona como um signo para pensar as conexões de Fernando Pessoa com a obra do autor catalão. Por meio de fragmentos e brevíssimas anotações, este artigo busca traçar uma cartografia mínima da presença de Pessoa em Vila-Matas, destacando questões que di¬zem respeito tanto a uma poética da desaparição na obra do autor catalão quanto a aspectos mais amplos da crítica e da teoria literária contemporânea. Assim, no contato entre a obra vila-matiana e o viés precursor da alteridade pessoana, emergem problemas relativos à im¬possi¬bilidade de definir o mistério, à filosofia do sujeito na modernidade, aos paradoxos do visível e do invisível na literatura e às fronteiras movediças entre ficção e teoria.
