Nesta entrevista, Yvette Centeno revisita o seu percurso intelectual e a sua longa dedicação ao estudo da obra de Fernando Pessoa, com especial atenção à dimensão simbólica, hermética e esotérica do poeta. A investigadora recorda o contacto direto com o espólio pessoano em casa de Henriqueta Rosa Dias, sublinhando a importância da biblioteca particular de Pessoa para a compreensão das suas leituras e interesses filosóficos. Ao longo da conversa, são abordadas questões como os heterónimos, o Livro do Desassossego, a influência da teosofia, da alquimia e da tradição neoplatónica, bem como o diálogo entre Pessoa e autores como Goethe, Whitman ou Crowley. A entrevista constitui igualmente um testemunho sobre a evolução dos estudos pessoanos em Portugal e sobre a inserção europeia da obra de Fernando Pessoa.

In this interview, Yvette Centeno reflects upon her intellectual trajectory and her longstanding engagement with the work of Fernando Pessoa, focusing particularly on the symbolic, hermetic, and esoteric dimensions of the poet’s writings. Centeno recalls her direct contact with Pessoa’s archive at the home of Henriqueta Rosa Dias and emphasises the importance of the poet’s private library for understanding his philosophical interests and literary formation. The conversation addresses topics such as heteronyms, The Book of Disquiet, the influence of theosophy, alchemy, and Neoplatonic traditions, as well as Pessoa’s dialogue with authors including Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Walt Whitman, and Crowley. The interview also offers valuable insights into the development of Pessoa studies in Portugal and the broader European scope of Pessoa’s intellectual universe.
