Abstract:: This document describes the project known as the 'Biographies of the Kings of Portugal', published in 34 volumes by the Círculo de Leitores, with the collaboration of the Centro de Estudos dos Povos e Culturas de Expressão Portuguesa da Universidade Católica Portuguesa. This project seeks to fill a major gap in Portuguese historiography, since many monarchs had never before been subjected to any form of academic biographical study.; Este documento descreve o projeto conhecido como 'Biografias dos Reis de Portugal', publicado em 34 volumes pelo Círculo de Leitores, com a colaboração do Centro de Estudos dos Povos e Culturas de Expressão Portuguesa da Universidade Católica Portuguesa. Este projeto visa a preencher um grande vazio na historiografia portuguesa, pois muitos monarcas nunca foram assunto de estudo biográfico académico.
