Abstract
The social status of Jews changed drastically in France during the nineteenth century: after the Revolution, they were granted citizenship and equal rights. In 1831, Louis Philippe granted state financial support for the jewish institutions as was already the case for those affiliated with Catholicism, Protestantism, and Islam. This print is accompanied by an article that praises those changes, and in which the author describes the new building and the people who belong to different faiths, that came to attend the ceremony.
