Abstract
This view from the Eiffel Tower shows the Palais des beaux arts in the foreground. The Palais had been designed by Formigé, and was facing the Palais des arts libéraux (by the same architect), which stood on the other side of the Tower. Behind Formigé's Palais are the British galleries, and perpendicular to them are the Palais des expositions diverses and Dutert's building, the Galerie des machines. On the background of the cityscape, one can also see the dome of the Hôtel des invalides.
