Abstract:: Este estudo objetiva investigar alguns momentos decisivos da obra de Miguel Torga que fazem referência à figura de Fernando Pessoa. É frequente, na fortuna crítica sobre os poetas, a referência a uma importante troca de cartas ocorrida em 1930, a qual se tornou responsável pela imagem precipitada de Adolfo Rocha (tal como assinava na época) como um escritor ressentido com o episódio. Este estudo procura ultrapassar esse lugar-comum a partir da análise de trechos de um discurso e de um editorial e poemas do escritor transmontano, nos quais se percebe a mudança de tom no seu discurso acerca de Pessoa. O corpus selecionado é formado por uma conferência compilada em Traço de União (1955), por uma seção do primeiro número da revista Manifesto (1936-1938) e pelos poemas “Fernando Pessoa” (1965) e “Informação” (1988), de Torga.; This study aims to investigate some decisive moments in the work of Miguel Torga that refer to the figure of Fernando Pessoa. It is frequent, in the critical fortune on the poets, the reference to an important exchange of letters that occurred in 1930, which became responsible for the hasty image of Adolfo Rocha (as he signed at the time) as a writer resentful of that episode. This study seeks to overcome this commonplace from the analysis of excerpts from a speech and an editorial and poems by the writer of Trás-os-Montes, in which the change of tone in his discourse about Pessoa can be perceived. The selected corpus is formed by a conference compiled in Traço de União (1955), a section of the first issue of the journal Manifesto (1936-1938) and the poems “Fernando Pessoa” (1965) and “Informação” (1988), by Torga.
